Let the fun begin!
At our meeting on Thursday April 20th, (4/20 Blaze it?), the Rockford Rotaracters filled out all of the official paperwork for chartering as an official Rotaract Club.
On May 11th, we received the official Certificate of Organization stating that the Rockford Rotaract Club is recognized and connected to Rotary International.
That's not to say that we haven't made big strides in the last couple months that we've been meeting.
So what's next?!?
That's partly up to you, we have a few things coming up (some of which are already posted on our new Event Calendar which we'll be updating regularly)
- Regular Meetings
- Volunteering every third Saturday with the Rockford Rescue Mission
- Working with Habitat for Humanity
- Our New Member Reception with Rotary June 1st
- Creating and starting "unofficial" downtown pub crawl
- Distributing our homeless care packages
- Creating a book donation drive
- Sharing projects with the Chicago Rotaract Club and International Rotaract Clubs
- Helping revitalize Rockford with Project 1013
- ... and more!
If you're interested in learning more about Rotaract, you can download the handbook here.
We're still trying to get more of the community involved and get more ideas and people who are passionate about helping out, so if you have any questions, feel free to come to a meeting (1st and 3rd Thursdays 6:30 at Owly Oops) or leave a message or comment.
